Invite a Professional to Observe an Al-Anon Meeting

Is your Al-Anon group registered as a “Families, Friends, and Observers Welcome” meeting? If so, do you know anyone in the helping professions who might be interested in learning more about Al‑Anon Family Groups? Consider inviting them to attend an in-person or online meeting to experience the warmth and support we can provide their patients or clients. For more information, please visit al-anon.org/observers

Serve on a Local Public Outreach Committee: Share the Al-Anon Message

Getting involved in a Public Outreach Committee—at the group, District, Area, or World Service Office (WSO) level—is a powerful way to carry the message and enhance our recovery. When we get busy, we get better, and by participating in outreach projects we learn to not do things alone while fostering harmony and unity. By sharing our experience, strength, and hope, we make AlAnon and Alateen available to those in need. Join a committee and experience the joy of service. Check out the AlAnon/Alateen Public Outreach Service Guideline (G-10) at al-anon.org/guidelines to find out more.

Al-Anon Faces Alcoholism Needs Your Sharing

Regaining Trust with the Help of Al-Anon

Being affected by the disease of alcoholism, we may have sought to protect ourselves from disappointment by not trusting anyone, or we may have placed our full trust in our alcoholic loved ones, inevitably resulting in disappointment. September’s Member Blog topic is:

“How does Al-Anon help you work through trust issues?”

As always, you can also write about Al-Anon’s three Legacies. This month features Step Nine, Tradition Nine, and Concept Nine.

Please share with us at al-anon.org/member-blog

Sharings on the Member Blog may be used in future Al-Anon publications.

New topics are being added each month!

Al-Anon Cooperates with Addiction Professionals

Al-Anon recognizes the vital role of addiction professionals in addressing the impact of alcoholism on individuals and families.  During National Recovery Month, observed each September in the US, and International Recovery Day, celebrated globally on September 30th, members are encouraged to share the Al-Anon message of hope and help with professionals who may encounter families impacted by alcoholism.  Recognizing the role addiction professionals play in family recovery helps extend Al‑Anon’s reach. We are grateful for their dedication to supporting family recovery and the communities they serve.
